Welcome to Cadbury Farm, your destination for horse boarding, and classical dressage training and lessons, within the vicinity of Carnation, Redmond and Sammamish, Washington.  I am Nichole Walters.  As a dressage instructor, and owner and manager of Cadbury Farm, I am fulfilling a life-long goal envisioned as a young rider.

I have enjoyed teaching riders of all ages for the past 18 years.  With the help of understanding the bio-mechanics of the horse, riders will learn how to refine the timing of their aides, and to maximize the natural movement of their horse.  The riders will learn their own bio-mechanics as well, to develop an independent seat and more importantly ride both efficiently and effectively.  Lessons are taught using the student's horse or our resident school horse.

My greatest joy comes from the harmony achieved between my students and their horses.  Many of my students compete in dressage and combined training, while others set their sights on improving the communication with their horses for pleasure and trail riding, and the occasional fox hunting.  We focus on the classical principles of riding, so students realize confidence in their skills and achieve success, regardless of their discipline.

My classical training influences come from my mentor, Paula Kierkegaard, USDF (www.usdf.org) "R" judge, as well as my many training experiences with Herr Walter Zettl. The use of the classical Germanic training scale lays the foundation to increased flexibility, lightness and self carriage.

Through my experiences breeding, raising, training, and showing sport horses spanning nearly two decades, I have an extensive background working with young horses.  My experience breaking and training numerous young horses has helped shape my appreciation for these beautiful yet powerful animals.  They are unique in themselves, so their natural conformation, movevement and individual needs must be considered in the approach to their training.

Cadbury Farm offers boarding, and training for the horse and rider at competitive and fair rates.  Our new barn and arena at this location were completed in 2008.  They provide a comfortable and healthy environment for horse and rider.
